IBIS recently installed a number of new Smart-binder systems to produce such A5 user-manuals at printing sites in Europe. IBIS sales partner Sakata Inx. in Japan, exhibited at the Tokyo exhibition...They demonstrated an off-line Smart-binder SB-3 producing personalised visitor guides to the show. Visitors entered information on-line that they required for their visit, and the tour guides were printed automatically. The booklet was finished on the Smart-binder and page content varied on-the-run (under bar-code control) between 12 and 20 pages. Each booklet included a tear-out visitor inquiry sheet which was perforated on the IBIS Smart-binder using the new DMP 100 dynamic perforation option.

Three IBIS Smart-binder systems were shown at IPEX 2006 in the UK during April, in connection with Xerox (www.xerox.com) , Delphax (www.delphax.com) and Xeikon (www.xeikon.com) printers.
Two of these Smart-binder systems were shown with the new IBIS 'SCF' providing an automatic interface to a Bourg adhesive binder. This interface allows the SB-4 system to produce thick adhesive bound books in-line automatically, as well as thinner saddlebound (glued or wire stitched) booklets.
